Saline Lightening

Cleanse area with freshly washed hands ONLY & antibacterial soap three times daily if possible. Apply generous amounts of Aquaphor.

Do not apply foundation or brow makeup to the brows or treatment area until the flaking has subsided on its own, or you risk giving yourself an infection. Call your doctor immediately if you notice red streaks spreading from the area. Simply washing your hands before touching the area will greatly reduce that possibility.

The pigment may seem to get darker immediately after the service. This is due to it moving closer to the surface of the skin. Relax and trust the process.

Use a fresh, clean pillowcase or bedding depending on where the treatment area is located.

Do not pick at the flakes of skin. We do not want to trigger the body to create unnecessary scar tissue.

Avoid adding products containing active ingredients to the skin until the flaking has stopped.

Sweating is encouraged, whether through intense workouts, using a sauna, or soaking in a hot tub or Epsom salt bath, especially during the first few days following the service when the skin is most open.

Feel free to use products with active ingredients after flaking has stopped to help metabolize the pigment.

Warm salt compresses are also recommended.

Instructions for Salt Compresses:

  • Microwave one cup of water.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt.
  • Mix well and soak paper towels in the solution.
  • Place on the treatment area for 20-minute intervals, up to four times daily.
  • This can be done during the first three days after treatment.
  • Reapply Aquaphor generously between salt soaks.

We want to remove as much pigment as possible during each lightening session, so following these instructions will help maximize your results.

Ibuprofen, NSAIDs, or other over-the-counter pain medication may be taken to relieve discomfort after the service.

Prid is a drawing salve with a brownish tint, so it is best applied in the evening. It is commonly used to draw splinters from the skin and is a great additional step to help maximize pigment lightening between sessions.

It is available at Walmart and most drug stores.

About Lift Saline Lightening

Lift is a high-saline solution that works through reverse osmosis. Treatments must be scheduled at least two months apart. It is effective at lightening unwanted pigment from the skin. Multiple sessions may be necessary depending on:

  • The depth at which the previous artist implanted the pigment.
  • The amount of pigment used.
  • The type of pigment.

These factors cannot be controlled, but each session can be maximized by following the aftercare instructions above.
