Scalp Micropigmentation

SMP pre-service

Please make sure you do not get any sunburns before your appointment. Your hair is cut short and steroids shots must be done 6 weeks before service is rendered, if need.

No tanning beds, wear sunscreen and mesh hats to protect your scalp.

SMP aftercare

For Alopecia, if you are doing steroid shots, schedule your appointment 6 weeks after your last shot. Avoid sweating, combing, shaving for 5-7 days after the service. No sauna, hot tub, hot yoga, ect 7 days. Do not allow running water to run over the scalp for 7 days. Do not shave or aggressively comb the scalp for 7 days. Use a baby shampoo to wash head/hair after 7 days-1 month. Baby shampoo is a great gentle option to stretch out the time between touch ups.

SMP Information

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a non-surgical, minimally invasive hair-loss solution that creates the appearance of thicker, fuller hair by strategically depositing pigment into the scalp.

For clients who wear their hair longer or have thinning hair throughout the scalp, the goal of SMP is to camouflage the contrast between the scalp and the existing hair. This is particularly helpful for people with dark hair, where the contrast between the hair and lighter scalp can make thinning areas appear more noticeable.

By carefully adding pigment between the existing hairs, SMP helps visually camouflage the scalp, reducing the appearance of excessive scalp visibility and creating the illusion of greater hair density. It does not create actual hair or increase the number of hair follicles—it simply makes the existing hair appear fuller and thicker by minimizing the contrast between the hair and scalp.

For men experiencing male pattern baldness or significant hair loss, SMP can recreate the appearance of natural hair follicles and a subtle five-o’clock shadow across the scalp. This can beautifully frame the face and create the appearance of a youthful, freshly shaved head without surgery or a hair transplant.

Customized to You

Every scalp and every client is different. During your initial consultation, Autumn evaluates the amount and pattern of hair loss, your existing hair, skin tone, desired level of coverage, and whether you prefer a subtle, natural appearance or a more defined look.

The extent of hair loss determines the amount of time required for the initial SMP service and therefore the initial investment.

SMP is built gradually, allowing Autumn to customize the density and tone to your individual preferences. Additional sessions can be performed as needed, with sessions generally spaced at least two weeks apart to allow the scalp to heal and the pigment to settle.

Some clients prefer an extremely subtle enhancement that simply reduces scalp visibility, while others want a more defined, freshly-shaved appearance. Autumn works with you to create a result that complements your existing hair and personal style

Low-Maintenance Hair Loss Solution

One of the greatest benefits of scalp micropigmentation is how little maintenance it requires once healed.

Long-term aftercare is simple: protect your scalp from excessive sun exposure by wearing a hat or applying sunscreen daily.

Unlike many hair-loss solutions, SMP does not require special shampoos, daily styling, or ongoing treatments to maintain its appearance.

SMP Touch-Ups & Longevity

SMP touch-ups are available at $100 per hour, allowing you to maintain or enhance your results according to your individual needs and budget.

The longevity of SMP varies from person to person. Most results last approximately three to seven years, depending on factors such as the desired intensity and how well the scalp is protected from sun exposure.

Generally, darker and more defined SMP results tend to remain visible longer, while very subtle results may require refreshing sooner.

Whether you’re experiencing early thinning, diffuse hair loss, a receding hairline, male pattern baldness, or more extensive hair loss, SMP can provide a natural-looking, low-maintenance way to camouflage visible scalp, enhance the appearance of hair density, and restore confidence—without surgery or a hair transplant.
